What’s the best way to achieve peace? There is an immediate way to achieve peace. But fundamentally, peace will be completed only when the importance of peace is recognized all around the world.
IWPG has a long-term commitment for fundamentally achieving peace. In 2018, as part of that goal, IWPG held the 1st IWPG International Loving-Peace Art Competition with the topic of “Peace, let’s be friends!”. This contest has been held around the world to give children a time to remember the importance of peace.
The most important issue in human history is peace! Establishing a culture of peace in children will be one of the biggest peace movements. Last year, the event wasn’t held because of the occurrence of Covid-19. IWPG decided to host the 3rd IWPG International Loving-Peace Art Competition online in 2021, as conditions still remain difficult for people to attend school due to the occurence of COVID-19 around the world.
This event was hosted by IWPG DAEJEON CHUNGCHEONG BRANCH and was the first online drawing contest organized by IWPG N. MACEDONIA. A total of 25 students and 3 teachers attended the event, which started on May 18, 2021 at 8:00pm Korean time and 1:00pm local time in North Macedonia.
This event was the first to be held online in real time, but with the active participation of students and the help of the elementary school teachers working in North Macedonia, the event was held safely.
Organized by the IWPG DAEJEON CHUNGCHEONG branch, the event included four schools; sh. F Bratstfo Migjeni, sh. F Kirili dhe Metodi, sh. F Liria and sh.f Istigball. The event was also attended by Ms.Lindita Ademi, the Representative of IWPG North Macedonia Peace Committee, Vlora Akiki, Arita Lokii, and Majilinda Nuhiu, members of the IWPG N. Macedonia peace committee. The online event organized by the elementary school association in Tetovo was an opportunity to break down walls around the world and develop an awareness of peace and communication.
In particular, the occurence of Covid 19 last year and the abnormal signs caused by various environmental problems had a great influence on the students’ work.
The children recognized that environmental protection was also an important peace issue for the societies in which we all live.
The IWPG International Loving-Peace Art Competition which was held online was first launched in Tetovo, North Macedonia, and will be held around the world in 2021.
The IWPG International Loving-Peace Art Competition is a part of the “Plant Peace” project, one of IWPG’s main activities.
